It's simple but
effective: Keep a bowl

counter, filled with
enough fruit for one

variety—from
apples and pears
to mangoes and

Cookbook author Ellie Krieger shares some
simple practices and affordable products to
improve the way you eat.
“Create an environment that works for you, not against you, by keeping healthy
and busy mom. For example, “spend a few minutes cutting, repackaging, and
generally organizing your food w hen you come home from the grocery.” Resist
the temptation to store snacks in countertop canisters. “You’ll be less likely to
automatically reach for them if you put them out of sight in a cabinet,” Ellie
says. And take advantage of guilt-free ways to add flavor to your cooking.
“Focus on big flavor that’s also healthful, like citrus, chili powder, peppers,
ground spices, and vinegar. You can get the great taste w ithout relying on salt
and sugar,” says Ellie, w ho incorporates this trick into her recipes, including
those in her newest book,
